Networking

Mar 18, 2019

Ok let’s throw it back to a year ago!
When I participated in my first styled shoot. Mind you, I was as introverted as it gets at this time. Talking to other people was literally paralyzing. So it was a huge feat for me to put myself out there and collaborate with other creatives. With my husband being a Marine Corps veteran, my comfort zone was primarily the veterans community. It was through this veterans community I connected with Laura Westphal an Air Force Veteran who at the time was an Event Planner. She graciously took me under her wing and showed me the ropes of how a styled shoot goes down. Photographing this styled shoot allowed me to connect with other creatives/business owners like HMUA/Clean Beauty Expert Cassandra McClure, Holly of Holly D Photography, Shannon and TJ our amazing models and more! Styled shoots and meet ups aren’t just about getting photos. It’s about networking and that requires time and effort. It helps build your “virtual rolodex” as long as you’reĀ putting in the effort to build genuine relationships. This community is all about “Community over Competition” and giving a hand-up instead of a hand-out. If it wasn’t for Laura I wouldn’t have met these other talented entrepreneurs who I’m still connected with today!
